About This Project

A five story Hotel with a basement that consists of four main parts build in late ‘70s from reinforced concrete at Eretria city. The restoration of the building shell and its seismic upgrade to the level of modern regulations is the main goal of the design, since the employer demand to harmonize with modern seismic requirements (EAK 2000-EC8.

The basic design principles of this study aim to:

Meeting the durability needs of the building, ie ensuring the static adequacy of the shell.

The seismic force will correspond to the current regulatory framework in order to fully meet the safety requirements.

A spectral dynamic non-linear analysis will be performed to evaluate and define the strength measures for the building.

Thus, through the proposed methodology of analysis-interventions through shear walls, concrete jackets etc.  the building will be upgraded seismically and the following will be achieved:

Correction of critical deficiencies

Ability to receive significantly higher seismic loads

Increased strength of the building

Increased stiffness of the building

Increased deformation capacity of the members without significant damage
